In Penn State’s multi-campus system, students who begin at one campus but move to another are referred to as “change-of-campus” students. Sixty percent of all Penn State students begin their Penn State careers at a location other than University Park, and approximately 30 percent of University Park seniors are change-of-campus students (data provided by the Office of Admissions). The transition from Commonwealth campus to University Park, however, can be tricky to navigate. At Penn State, we are working to improve the change-of-campus transition. In order to facilitate this effort, SARA has completed several assessments related to this experience. These include an assessment of the inaugural Link U.P. University Park visitation day for Commonwealth campus students and a Pulse survey exploring the experiences of change-of-campus students at University Park.
