Network online with Penn State students by joining this LinkedIn Group (professional online networking). You’ll be able to discuss career issues and industry trends with students, as well as provide updates on new initiatives and opportunities within your organization.
Penn State Career Services offers assistance with reaching out to students from underrepresented populations to support your diversity recruiting needs. Employers attending Fall Career Days, Spring Career Days, and Education Career Day, have an option of participating in diversity networking events.
Help students to more deeply explore career areas of interest through hosting an externship or job-shadowing experience at your work-site. This can be another good way to enhance your brand and to identify students interested in your line of work and your organization.
Offer your advice directly to students during one of our special programs and events. You can be a guest presenter in one of our career courses or during a student club meeting.You can also serve as a panelist for our Industry Spotlight Series or help critique student resumes during Resumania (during Fall or Spring Career Days).
LionLink Career Coach (PSU Alumni Volunteers)
Penn State students and alumni can explore various career fields through informational interviews with alumni volunteers (career coaches). Through sharing your professional experience, you can offer valuable advice that will help students and alumni compete in today’s job-market.
