Marketing/Public Relations/Design Internship

Description:
Penn State Career Services is seeking two marketing and public relations student interns. Working under the supervision of the Career Information Coordinator, one intern will focus primarily on writing initiatives, and one intern will focus on design and graphics with some overlap of duties and responsibilities including participating at Career Services events and programs. Responsibilities: Update and enhance career fair marketing plans and offer new ideas for student outreach; design and produce promotional materials in support of career fairs and other Career Services events, including posters, newspaper ads, handbills, and digital signage; design templates to be used for consistent marketing identity, including graphic images, posters, banners, advertising, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and web presence; manage social media outreach on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram; coordinate and write blog posts on career-related topics; develop video content for social media platforms and Career Services website; compose material for Career Corner, a weekly career section of the Collegian, and the Weekly Posting, a publication sent to more than 200 faculty and staff; write news briefs for inclusion on Penn State News and Student, Parent & Family, and Faculty & Staff listservs; participate at events and programs performing a variety of duties, as directed.

Qualifications:
Applicants should demonstrate strong writing and editing skills; knowledge and experience with graphic and image creation and editing using Adobe Creative Cloud; experience with social networking sites; creativity; accuracy and attention to detail; strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and within a team while meeting established deadlines. This is a paid internship for Summer 2017-Spring 2018. Preferred start date is the week of May 15, 2017, but is negotiable. Candidates who can commit through the end of the Spring 2018 semester will be given top priority, but those with alternate availability may be considered. Interns must be available for approximately 20 hours per week during the summer semester and approximately 12 hours per week during the fall/spring semesters. Digital Marketing Internship

Description:
Penn State Career Services is seeking two digital marketing student interns. Working under the supervision of the Career Information Coordinator, one intern will focus on development of the One Button Studio content and video production and one intern will focus on photography and digital video content, with some overlap of duties and responsibilities including participating at Career Services events and programs. Responsibilities: Develop a variety of feature videos highlighting Career Services services, resources, and events; serve as primary photographer and videographer for Career Services as needed; create an overarching video production plan and oversee implementation; organize all photographs and consent forms in a central repository; oversee implementation of One Button Studio (OBS) at Career Services; collect all OBS video content and organize in a central repository; develop a variety of videos using OBS content for distribution across all marketing channels; develop OBS user manual and best practices; participate at events and programs performing a variety of duties, as directed.
