Introduction to CAPS Services

The following video provides an overview of services offered by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), including a discussion of mental health, common concerns experienced by college students, and a description of services offered by CAPS.


Coping Skills

In this video, both unhealthy and healthy coping skills are reveiwed. Specific healthy coping skills are presented in areas of health, time management, social support, relaxation, thought restructuring, and acceptance.



Do you have difficulty speaking up for yourself? Do you wish you could be more “yourself” in your relationships? View this assertiveness video and learn more about communicating your needs effectively and responding to others in healthy ways.


Healthy Romantic Relationships

In this video, characteristics of healthy relationships, warning signs of unhealthy relationships, and ways to improve existing romantic relationships are explored. The overall importance of relationships, boundary setting, conflict management, and expressing affection are also discussed. 


Test Anxiety

Do you have difficulties with taking tests, incluing feeling tense, "blanking out", or feeling excessively nervous? Please watch this video to find some ideas to cope! 

This video is set to teach you some deep breathing skills, as well as a visualization to help you learn to utilize breathing and positive self talk in a test taking situation.


Coping with Anxiety and Depression

If you find yourself struggling with thoughts or feelings of anxiety, worry, sadness, or the blues, this video is for you. This video includes an overview of different basic coping techniques for managing anxiety and depression. Anxiety and depression are briefly reviewed, and then a menu of mechanisms for managing mood are explained. 


Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

This video is intended to provide a brief summary of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (otherwise known as ADHD.) Topics discussed include an overview of symptoms (as they may present in a college setting), as well as some steps to take if you or someone you know may have ADHD.


This video is intended to provide useful strategies to help cope with symptoms related to ADHD. Topics discussed in the video include academically-based and behavioral strategies, some of which can be implemented immediately.
