Professional Development

As a Student Affairs employee, you are strongly encouraged to participate in professional development activities to assist in your personal and professional growth, stay abreast of current issues in higher education, and hone your skills as a practitioner. The resources linked below are available to assist you in this endeavor. Please talk with your supervisor before registering for a program, as there may be funding and/or coverage issues.

Student Affairs expects every employee to participate in at least 20 hours of professional development each year. Employees are expected to participate in at least three hours of training in each of the following areas annually: diversity, information technology, sustainability, and skill enhancement. The remaining eight hours of professional development should be selected by the employee and the supervisor and should be relevant to the job.
