Administrative Support to HUB areas
The Director's Office for Union and Student Activities provides oversight for all areas that fall within the scope of the Union and Student Activities department. These areas include:
- the HUB-Robeson Center facility
- Student Activities
- Fraternity and Sorority Life
- ASA (the Student Organization Finance Office)
- Schwab Auditorium
- Art Galleries
- HUB Goes Green
- Student Recreational Facilities & Equipment Fund Application
Administrative Support for Student Organizations
The Director's Office also provides administrative support for the HUB-Robeson Center Advisory Board and for the Student Activity Fee Board. The office maintains materials and information for both of these boards. For more information about these two boards, please visit their respective websites.
The Director's Office provides support for student organization office and storage space. Recognized student organizations may apply for space in the spring semester for the following school year through the process that is established by the HUB-Robeson Center Advisory Board. Space is limited and must be applied for each year.
Union and Student Activities is pleased to offer limited notary services free of charge to current Penn State students, faculty and students. Services are available in rooms 209, 215 and 237 HUB-Robeson Center. Notary service is available from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are recommended and it is strongly encouraged to make an appointment for time sensitive documents, documents requiring multiple notarizations and for documents requiring additional witnesses. Please contact one of the notaries to schedule an appointment.
Please understand that the notaries may not be able to notarize your document(s) due to various reasons/restrictions/limitations or unavailability; the decision to notarize a document is solely at the discretion of the Notary and he/she reserves the right to refuse to notarize a document for any reson. Some examples of documents that cannot be notarized by these offices are as follows:
Vehicle titles – these documents may be presented to AAA or Tri-County Tag in State College.
Real estate closing/mortgage/refinancing documents – due to the volume and time associated with processing these documents.
Penn State diplomas or transcripts – certified copies of these documents must be requested through the Registrar’s office, information regarding same can be found at: https://www.registrar.psu.edu/academic_verifications .
I-9 or other citizenship or immigration documents. I-20 copies can be obtained at the Global Programs office.
Documents that require preparation – the Notary will not draft documents or provide documents to be notarized.
Please be prepared to show a current (unexpired) photo identificatin. Examples of acceptable forms of identification include:
- Driver’s license from the United States;
- State-issued identification card;
- U.S. Passport;
- Passport issued by a foreign government (must be stamped by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service or the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services);
- U.S. military identification card with the required photo, personal description, signature, and identification number (Note: Some military identification cards do not contain all the required information.)
You should complete any required informaiton (except signature) on the document(s) prior to the visit to the Notary. Enter N/A where not applicable.
DO NOT sign nor date the document(s) prior to the visit to the Notary. This is very important! The Notary MUST witness your signature on the document(s).
