Im so happy to be on the staff here at Penn State. I enjoy working in a college atmosphere and being able to make an impact on the lives of young adults every day. I look forward to great things to come here in the SRC and helping to maintain our status as one of the most comprehensive centers across the country. In my previous career life, I was a collegiate softball coach as well as adjunct professor. I am a sports nut and love to watch most all sports live as well as on TV. I have a four year old daughter, Dylan, who keeps me on my toes. In my free time, I enjoy time with Dylan, golfing, hiking, biking, fantasy football and reading. I look forward to working to ensure that all of our students get the quality services they deserve.

My name is Kari Jo Freudigmann and I am excited to be the center's Programming Coordinator.  I hope to continue meeting the center's vision through programs, activities, education, and outreach.   I am a recent Masters of Student Affairs in Higher Education graduate with a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design and plan to continue my education in the future.  In my free time, I find joy in playing board, card, tabletop, or video games; reading a good book; and, of course, spending time with my fiancé.

I am the Office Manager for the center. I have spent 15 years at Penn State. I have accounting, marketing and staff assistant experience. This position has brought me back to my roots of accounting and managing an office and direct interaction with students. It is my plan to touch as many student's lives in the most positive way as possible while serving the LGBTQA community. Working here is always an adventure and no two days are ever the same - and that's a great thing!

My name is Russ Norris. Completing my M.S. in Higher Education and serving as the Center’s graduate assistant, I came to Penn State to continue my life as a learner and begin a career as a student affairs professional. The Center’s meaningful work fits into a hardly disputed outcome of the college experience, namely that students will grow affirmed in their identities while embracing others’ communities. I organize, present, facilitate, assess, supervise, and provide support in service of that outcome and the LGBTQA community. I came to Penn State following undergraduate work in mathematics and religious students, graduate work in mathematics education, and work as an urban mathematics educator. The bottom line is that I love working with students.

I’m a devoted reader and moviegoer. I love food and conversation, in that order. The ‘weekend trip’ is my best friend. I’m a lifelong southerner (until now), and enjoy visiting my friends in Alabama, North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. I’m pretentious about my coffee, and am always searching for the perfectly roasted cup. I have a grumpy ‘senior’ cat named Roxanne.

Hi! My name is Stacy Jarvis and I am a sophomore at Penn State studying International Politics. I hope to one day work in counter terrorism for the department of defence. I love Penn State! Coming here is one of the best decisions I have ever made. My favorite thing about PSU is the community. One of the first things I experienced here was singing the alma mater at a football game and I got chills all over. Thinking back on that moment always reminds me of how amazing the Penn State community is. I am looking forward to working as Hospitality and Office Management intern in order to enhance the Penn State community I love.

My name is Kassie Trinkley and I am an intern for the Center. Currently a Junior in the Biology major, I came to Penn State with the steadfast goal of becoming a surgeon. However, in my Sophomore year, I was introduced to the Center and quickly fell in love with the warm community and smiling faces that greeted me when I walked through the doors. I want to help teach about LGBTQA issues on campus and encourage others to visit the center during their time at Penn State, as well as contribute to that friendly environment that had me coming back to the center day after day during my Sophomore year.

I love reading, writing and watching the occasional cartoon in my free time. I drink far too much caffeine than any person should reasonably consume on a regular basis and my love for tea and coffee runs deep. I love all animals I see but cats are by far my favorite.

My name is Cameron Yencsik. I am a junior studying psychology. I applied to be an intern for the LGBTQA Student Resource Center for an opportunity to help others within the LGBT+ community in any ways I can. I hope to be able to educate those who maybe are unsure of some topics related to the community, and to be a friend to those who need one.

My name is Logan Paiste and I am the Community Outreach intern at the LGBTQA Student Resource Center. I am enthusiastic about meeting different people with different perspectives as well as facilitating cross-cultural dialogue and conflict resolution. My vision is to connect the Center with other campus clubs, organizations, and communities and build new relationships.

I study Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies (Ancient Languages Option), Jewish Studies (Culture and Language Option), and Chinese at Penn State. When I am not working on schoolwork or at the Center, I am usually learning another language. This year, I hope to build foundations in Amharic, Cantonese, and Modern Hebrew. One of my life goals is to speak proficiently in thirty languages.

Along with two dear friends and a spiritual coach, I helped to found Receiving with Thanksgiving, which is Penn State’s only LGBTQA Christian gathering. This is a safe space for all students and members of the State College community who are looking to connect with other LGBTQA Christians and their allies.

Please contact me with any questions which you may have. I look forward to meeting you this year at the Center.
