Flu Vaccine Clinics
Each fall, University Health Services hosts a series of student flu vaccine clinics at the University Park campus. Students must schedule an appointment in advance to receive a flu vaccine during any of the clinics; students at Commonwealth Campus locations are encouraged to contact their on-campus health service (if applicable) or local a provider to inquire about clinics in their area.
In addition to the convenience and time savings that flu vaccine clinics provide, students receiving the vaccine at a clinic will be exempt from administration and appointment fees.
Students are also welcome to schedule a private appointment with University Health Services to receive the flu vaccine at any time.
2020-21 Flu Vaccine Clinics
All flu vaccine clinics will be held in Heritage Hall, HUB-Robeson Center from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They are by appointment only -- no walk-ins. Please schedule your appointment through myUHS.
The cost of this year’s vaccine is $25, billable to insurance, or the student’s Bursar account. Although most insurances cover the cost, to make sure students have access to the vaccine, the Student Fee Board has allocated funds to cover the cost of the flu vaccine for the first 4,536 students.
- Go to "Forms" in myUHS and make sure that you have completed the Consent to Treat, Notice of Privacy Practices, and the Student Account Billing and Financial Aid Statement.
- Go to "Insurance Cards" and upload your Health Insurance Card. If there is no insurance on file, charges will be billed to your Student Account.
- Bring your Student ID with you to the visit.
Please note: Students do not need to bring insurance cards to the vaccine clinics and should be uploaded ahead of time. We will not be able to process them at the clinics.

NexTemp Ultra Thermometers & Hand sanitizers
We will have single-use NexTemp Ultra Thermometers and #FightFluPSU hand sanitizers for students to take at the flu clinics. Instructions for thermometer use can be found here.
University Health Services administers the Fluarix Quadrivalent flu vaccine. This vaccine is thimerosal-free and latex-free.
COVID-19 & the Flu
An annual flu vaccine is the first and most important step in preventing flu viruses. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a flu vaccine for everyone, age six months, and older.
Vaccination of people at high risk for flu complications is especially important to decrease their risk of severe flu illness. Many people at higher risk from flu also seem to be at higher risk from COVID-19. If you are at high risk, it is especially important for you to get a flu vaccine this year. For more information visit the CDC website.
