Primary Care Services
Preventative Care on Campus
Preventive care is an important part of staying healthy during college and beyond. UHS offers routine checkups, immunizations, health screenings, and counseling to help you stay ahead of potential issues. Annual visits are a great time to talk about your lifestyle, get recommended screenings based on your age and risk factors, and ask questions about your physical and emotional health.
24/7 Advice Nurse on Call
Have a question after hours or not sure whether you need an appointment? Our advice nurse can help.
- Call 814-865-4UHS (4847), Option 3, to talk to a nurse anytime, day or night.
Weekday calls answered by a UHS registered nurses. Evenings and weekends calls are handled by a nurse advice service and reviewed by UHS staff the next business day. Appointments can only be scheduled during weekday calls.
Physicals and Screenings
Whether it’s for a job, your driver’s license, or personal peace of mind, you can schedule physical exams at UHS. Intercollegiate athletes are required to complete a medical clearance form before their physical. Club and intramural athletes are also encouraged to get annual checkups to stay at the top of their game.
Before You Visit
UHS participates with a limited number of insurance plans. Check with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage before scheduling.
Canceling an Appointment
Can’t make it to your appointment? Be sure to cancel in advance to avoid fees:
- Medical appointments: Cancel via myUHS or call 814-865-4UHS(4847) at least 1 hour prior — no-show fee is $20
- Physical therapy: Cancel at least 12 hours in advance for evaluations and 2 hours for treatment sessions — no-show fee is $20
