Master of Laws (LLM) with over 11 years of experience as a Higher Education Specialist and Strategic Communicator professional. Bilingual in Spanish and English and proven expertise in leading diversity and inclusion strategies. Her background in Communication and Higher Education has enabled her to create a sense of community and foster student commitment. Skilled in revising policies and procedures related to discrimination and has solid knowledge and comprehension of Title VII, Title IX, ADA, VEVRAA, VAWA, Clery, and related federal policies. BioA.B. is a queer Quechua and Peruvian first-generation immigrant. Prior to working at Penn State, they served as a youth development facilitator and advisor for the Sadie Nash Leadership Institute and NJ SEEDS. A.B. is also an AmeriCorps VISTA alum. They served as the Community Partnerships and Volunteer Coordinator for the Puerto Rican Action Board (PRAB), a human services non-profit organization in Central New Jersey. During their service year, they created campaigns geared towards promoting food security and multilingual literacy across Middlesex County. As a researcher, A.B. worked for the Observatoire Citoyen de l'Action des Pouvoirs Publics en Haïti (OCAPH), a Haitian citizen watchdog organization, as well as, Réseau Siggil Jigéen (RSJ), an NGO that works to promote and protect women’s rights in Senegal. More recently, they worked with the Library of Congress on expanding their Andean Studies archives in partnership with Andean storytellers, activists, artists, and scholars. A.B. credits GW’s multicultural community for cultivating a strong sense of belonging for them during their undergraduate career and hopes they can reciprocate that support and care for Penn State students with diverse identities and needs.

Bio
Cecil is a State College native and Penn State alum who graduated with a bachelor of arts in Asian Studies and a minor in Chinese. As an undergraduate, he also served as a peer educator for Penn State's Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity. Post-graduation, Cecil attended National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan to continue his study of Chinese and to research the experiences of the Taiwanese LGBTQ+ community. His focus and continued interest is in researching contemporary social issues in predominantly Chinese-speaking countries, Asian American history, and how the Asian American experience intersects with other communities, particularly other racial and ethnic minorities. Cecil currently volunteers for the community organization PanAPIDA Circle to help expand resources and support for the local APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) community in Centre County, and to develop annual town-gown heritage/cultural events. He also serves as a community educator for the nonprofit Centre LGBT+ to provide bystander intervention and DEI trainings for local businesses and organizations.
