Hours of Operation
A picture ID and valid Campus Recreation Membership are required for admission. Hours are subject to change. All changes will be posted in the affected facility. Intramural Building and Natatorium are closed on home football Saturdays.
Intramural (IM) Building
The IM Building is your go-to spot for everything active and social. From pickup basketball and volleyball to a state-of-the-art climbing wall and tons of cardio and strength equipment, there’s something here for every fitness level. It’s a vibrant hub to sweat, recharge, and connect.
Hepper Fitness Center
Want a chill place to lift or hit the treadmill? Hepper Fitness Center is a low-key, high-impact fitness space next to Rec Hall—perfect for focused workouts without the crowds. It's ideal if you're looking for a quiet, no-frills spot to move your body.
McCoy Natatorium
Ready to dive in? McCoy Natatorium is where you’ll find lap swimming, open rec swims, and diving boards for a splash of fun or training. Whether you're looking to cool off, train like an athlete, or take swim lessons, this is your aquatic escape.
White Building
Right in the heart of campus, the White Building is a cozy and convenient place to get moving. Whether you're into group fitness classes, martial arts, or just need a quick workout between classes, this spot has you covered. Bonus: it’s also home to wellness resources for mind-body balance.
Outdoor Fields
Penn State’s outdoor fields and courts provide open space for everything from pickup games to intramural sports. Spread across campus, these fields support soccer, flag football, ultimate frisbee, and casual recreation whenever weather and availability permit.
The Tennis Center
The Tennis Center offers indoor and outdoor courts, lessons, and programming for players of all skill levels. While access isn’t included in standard Campus Rec memberships, students and community members can purchase passes or reserve courts at affordable rates.
Stone Valley Recreation Area
Stone Valley Recreation Area lies about 14 miles from Penn State’s main campus and offers a rich mix of outdoor recreation set in picturesque, wooded hills. Highlights include a 72-acre Lake Perez for boating and fishing, more than 20 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing, plus picnic areas, a challenge course, and seasonal rentals of cabins, pavilions, and lodges.
Facility and Gear Rentals
Campus Recreation has a variety of spaces available for student organizations to reserve for practices or gatherings. Rental gear and custom programs are available for both student organization and outside groups.

Campus Recreation hosts a number of student organizations in the White Building, Tennis Center, McCoy Natatorium, and in outdoor field spaces and Stone Valley Recreation Area.

- A 6 lane, 25 meters, 3.5 – 5 ft. depth
- Competition Pool
- 6 lane, 25 yards, 6 – 10 ft. depth
- Diving Well
- 14 ft depth, 1- and 3-meter springboards
- Outdoor Pool
- 50 meters x 25 yards with short (20 lanes) or long (8 lanes) course capability

- 950 sf with table, chair and projection options
White Building
- Room 126
- A 14,442 square foot space with a wood floor gymnasium, available bleacher seating, and available basketball, volleyball, and badminton setups.
- Room 133/132
- A dual room with a removable partition for small or larger space use. Room 133 is a 4,172 square feet and Room 132 is 3,108 square feet. Both spaces have hardwood floors, ballet barres, and mirrors, and is commonly used by dance organizations.
- Room 113
- A 2,864 square foot space exclusively used for dance classes and organizations. Space includes mirrors, ballet barres, and a Marley flood (typically used for ballet)
- Room 106
- A 3,421 square foot multi-use space with mirrored walls and a hardwood floor
- Room 50/51
- A 1,496 square foot multi-use space reserved mainly for group fitness, musical clubs, and classroom space. Space features a tile floor and single mirrored wall.

All reservations are made within 25Live. Search for Campus Recreation to view available spaces and request a reservation. This is an initial request and not a guaranteed reservation until verified by Campus Recreation staff.

Occasionally staff will request a meeting with the requestor to review logistics, details, and requirements. If the event is approved by Campus Recreation a pre-event meeting will be scheduled to verify all reservation components.

What are the requirements for general space reservation?
In order to reserve a space with Campus Recreation you must give at least 30 days notice of your requested date. Reservations are made in 25Live (search for Campus Recreation for availability) and all requests are subject to approval or denial.

Facilty & Gear Rentals
Campus Rec has a variety of equipment for use both on and off campus. Check out our outdoor rental center in the IM building or visit Stone Valley Recreation Area to rent a variety of watercraft to enjoy on Lake Perez.

Lockers are available for Campus Recreation members to rent at the IM Building and Natatorium. A lock is provided when you purchase the rental.
- Rentals must be purchased in person at the IM Building sales desk.

We offer free day-use cubbies and lockers with built in locks. Long-term locker rentals located in the locker rooms can be found in Intramural, White & the Natatorium.

At the time, Campus Recreation does not have a court reservation system available. Access to courts is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
