Supporting Your Growth, One Conversation at a Time.

Your emotional and psychological well-being is an important part of your Penn State experience. Whether you're managing stress, building resilience, or navigating life’s challenges, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers support that aligns with your academic and personal journey. Our services help you develop lifelong skills, foster healthy relationships, and strengthen your sense of belonging and purpose.

CAPS Chat

Sometimes you just need to talk it out. CAPS Chat offers free, same-day 30-minute chats with a counselor — no need to call ahead. Great for quick support, questions, or figuring out your next step.

Getting Started with Care

Every student’s path is different. That’s why CAPS begins with a brief phone screening to learn more about your needs and help you find the right fit — whether that’s services at CAPS or support in the community.
