Join the Healthworks Peed Educator Program

HealthWorks is a peer-education and outreach initiative run by Health Promotion and Wellness, designed to support student health and well-being at University Park. Peer educators raise awareness about key topics — like nutrition, stress, relationships, sleep, and overall wellness — and help fellow students make healthy choices through education and support.
-
As a HealthWorks peer educator, students may:
- Provide one-on-one wellness services and support to peers.
- Lead educational workshops, outreach tables, and wellness events across campus.
- Facilitate wellness activities, support health promotion campaigns, and help connect students with resources.
Joining HealthWorks also offers meaningful professional growth:
- Develop public speaking, communication, and leadership skills.
- Gain real-world experience in health education and peer support — valuable for future careers or community work.
- Build a network of supportive peers and professionals, and contribute directly to wellness across campus.
-
HealthWorks begins with a mandatory three-credit training course on health behavior theory and wellness strategies. After completing the course, students are eligible to apply for a paid peer-educator position. The role typically requires a commitment of two additional semesters, with 3–10 hours per week of involvement in outreach, workshops, and wellness services.
- To apply, students must submit the online application and unofficial transcript by Friday, March 6, 2026.
- Applicants need to be enrolled through at least the following two semesters (i.e. not graduating before December 2027).
