Weather Closures and Delays
Most Student Affairs offices, facilities, programs, and events follow Penn State–announced weather-related delays and closures. When the University is closed or delayed, these areas will open when the University reopens, unless otherwise noted.
Registered events and programs are canceled during closures unless extenuating circumstances are communicated directly. If a closure is announced mid-day, offices will remain open long enough to notify occupants and ensure everyone exits safely. During a delay, services operate only within the announced delay window.

Gather Supplies
Have essentials on hand in case travel is limited or power is disrupted:
- Bottled water
- Nonperishable food
- Snow supplies (shovel and ice melt)
- Medications
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Power banks or portable chargers
- Blankets
- Pet food and supplies
Plan Ahead
Simple steps now can make a big difference later:
- Keep phones, laptops, and power banks charged

Think It Through
Consider how you’ll manage if conditions change:
- How will you stay warm if power goes out?
- What food options will you have without electricity?
