Supporting Spiritual Expression across Traditions
Penn State is committed to honoring the religious and spiritual identities of all students, faculty, and staff. The Faith & Religious Observance Calendar is a resource designed to support awareness, inclusion, and respectful scheduling across our diverse campus community.
Whether you're observing major holidays or simply learning about different traditions, this calendar is a tool for education, empathy, and equity.
Planning with Inclusion in Mind
Instructors, advisors, student leaders, and staff are encouraged to use the calendar to avoid scheduling significant assessments, events, or deadlines on major religious holidays whenever possible.
Requesting Accommodations
Students are encouraged to communicate their needs early in the semester. Reasonable accommodations may include excused absences, rescheduled exams, or flexibility with deadlines for religious observance.
Start a Learning Journey
The Center for Spiritual and Ethical Development offers a wide range of programs that invite students to explore identity, learn across belief systems, and find community.
