Diagnostic Imaging, Right on Campus
University Health Services offers on-site X-ray and ultrasound services to make getting the care you need as convenient as possible. Imaging is available to all registered Penn State students, spouses enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan for Penn State, and campus visitors—including sports camp participants.
- All imaging must be ordered by a UHS provider or a licensed external healthcare provider.
Our Radiology Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology and features advanced equipment operated by experienced, certified technologists.
X-Ray
We provide general diagnostic X-rays (no fluoroscopy or contrast studies). If you need to share your images with another provider or want a copy for your records, you can request them—see how below.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound services are available for abdominal (liver, gallbladder, kidneys, aorta, and more), small parts (thyroid, testicles, etc.), and gynecological exams (uterus, ovaries, IUD checks).
Costs & Billing
Radiology tests are not included in basic UHS medical service fees. Charges vary depending on the specific test ordered by your provider. University Health Services accepts some insurance plans for radiology services.
Requesting Your Images
To share or access your X-ray or ultrasound images and reports, complete the required Radiology Request Form. For your privacy and in compliance with health laws, only handwritten signatures will be accepted.
