Campus Recreation Fitness and Wellbeing has more than 60 weekly offerings for all students and those with a Campus Recreation membership. Group Fitness offers free classes as a part of the Weekly Group Fitness schedule such as HIIT, Kickboxing, Indoor Cycling, Aqua Fitness, Zumba©, and Yoga. 

Fitness Classes are lead by Penn State Certified Fitness Instructors and Certified Personal Trainers. We offer diverse fitness classes for all fitness levels and abilities. Space is limited.

There are group classes for everyone. Reservations for group classes are required. Check the Google calendar below for updated schedules or search for class types.

Mask Are Required
Penn State Campus Recreation may be forced to impose a moratorium on access to its facilities, including the IM Building, White Building, and Hepper Fitness Center, unless compliance with the University’s indoor masking requirement significantly increases in these facilities soon.

Campus Recreation, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, will continue to monitor mask wearing in the facilities and will make a decision on closing if there is a significant disregard for mask wearing. In addition, patrons who disregard the mask requirement may be subject to other sanctions, such as removal from the building, referral to student conduct (for student patrons) or revoking of membership.

Join the Team

Our student fitness instructors are committed to health and fitness. 

After training, fitness instructors hold a national certification and have successfully completed the 2-credit KINES 93 training class. Instructors gain leadership skills, fitness knowledge, and motivational tools to help fellow students become fit, healthy contributors to the Penn State community. Email fitness@psu.edu for more information about becoming a Group Fitness Instructor.
