Whether you’re looking for one-on-one support, interactive wellness activities, or access to trusted resources, our programs are here to help you build habits that support success, balance, and belonging.

Peer Wellness Services

Meet one-on-one with trained peer educators and staff in Health Promotion and Wellness to explore strategies that strengthen your well-being and support your academic success. These personalized sessions offer practical tools, new insights, and simple techniques you can use every day.

Understand how sleep works, the benefits of adequate sleep, and the effects of sleep deficiency. Learn practical strategies you can use to improve your sleep.

Learn about nutrition guidelines, behaviors, and strategies to fuel your body for academic, social, and physical well-being.

Build awareness of your emotions and understand how feelings influence your behaviors. Practice strategies that promote well-being such as awareness, self-regulation, and social connection.

Learn about how nature and art can improve your mental and physical health. The session is designed to help connect you to programs, events, and resources that support your well-being. Learn more about Nature and Art Rx at Penn State now.

Recognize the components of a healthy relationship and explore practical strategies for improving communication with friends, family, and loved ones. Learn about safe sexual health practices, including using barrier methods and STI testing resources.

Understand what causes stress and how it impacts your body, mental health, and academic performance. Learn practical stress relief and time management strategies as you dive into the benefits of mindfulness and somatic practices.

Stress Management Support

Managing stress is an important part of staying healthy and successful at Penn State. From peer guidance, workshops, to activities and professional support, campus resources can help you build healthier ways to cope and stay grounded during busy or challenging moments.

Penn State offers a variety of yoga and meditation experiences to help students, faculty, and staff build resilience, reduce stress, and reconnect with their well-being. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or trying mindfulness for the first time, these practices are accessible and welcoming to all.

Forest Bathing offers an opportunity to experience nature through a slow, meditative walk through the woods. This research-based practice is led by a certified ANFT guide and is open to all who are interested. Space on these walks is limited to 15 participants and registration is required. 

Participate in this weekly series that promotes resiliency and relaxation through breathwork. Learn practical skills that will help transform the way you respond to stress. Registration is not required.

Join us for Well-being Wednesdays in the Lobby of the IM Building for wellness activities and resources. Stop by the outreach tables, staffed by HealthWorks Peer Educators, to learn about ways to support your well-being. 

Mindful Mondays are a collaboration between Health Promotion and Wellness and the Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Student Farm. Mindful Mondays focus on hands-on, creative, and calming activities to promote community connection and stress reduction.

Broaden your understanding of flourishing by connecting with wellness units across campus. You may feel overwhelmed, homesick, or burnt out by routine at this point in the semester, so use this as an opportunity to rest and reset. This event will help you discover resources from across campus while enjoying snacks, drinks, crafts, stress management tips, and plenty of free giveaways. 

Well-being Workshops

Request a workshop led by trained peer educators or professional staff in Health Promotion and Wellness for your class, student clubs and organizations, or other student groups. These interactive workshops provide accurate, inclusive, and non-judgmental information on health and wellness topics while helping students build knowledge and skills to support their well-being. 

Make getting adequate sleep a priority! Learn how sleep impacts academic success, health, and well-being and leave with tips to improve your sleep to help you feel energized. Got Sleep workshops are facilitated by trained HealthWorks peer educators. 

Boost your nutrition knowledge! Learn how to create a balanced plate and distinguish nutrition fact from fiction. Mission: Nutrition workshops are facilitated by trained HealthWorks peer educators. 

Make your sexual health a priority! Learn how to protect yourself from sexually transmitted infections. Free safer sex materials will be provided. Safer Sex workshops are facilitated by trained HealthWorks peer educators. 

Feeling overwhelmed by school, work, and life? Chill out by learning some easy relaxation exercises and healthy strategies for coping with stress. Stress Less workshops are facilitated by trained HealthWorks peer educators. 

Learn about how to challenge the belief about what a successful college experience looks like. You will be introduced to flourishing practices and resources to support resilience and well-being. Flourish Penn State workshops are led by professional staff in Health Promotion and Wellness. 

Learn about the concepts of mindfulness and compassion and how these concepts are linked to your overall well-being. You will be introduced to techniques to help you become more resilient and better able to manage your stress. Mindfulness & Compassion workshops are led by professional staff in Health Promotion and Wellness. 

Work With Our Nutrition Clinic

Penn State students can access free, individual nutritional counseling through the Nutrition Clinic. Registered dietitians meet with you in a supportive, positive environment. Meet with a dietitian for a consultation and schedule follow-up appointments as needed. Sessions are free and no referral is needed.
