Peer Career Assistants are student staff who make a valuable contribution to the mission of Penn State Career Services. Our Peer Career Assistants are trained to assist their fellow Penn State students with the following:

  • Resume and cover letter editing and development
  • Job and internship searching
  • Interview preparation and mock interviews
  • Online resources use, such as Nittany Lion Career Network, LinkedIn, and our Career Information Center resources

Get Involved

Typically, the Peer Career Assistant position is posted on the Penn State Employment website early in the fall semester. Interviews are held late in the fall semester and students are offered a position in early December for the next academic year.

Students who are offered a position will then complete a 1-credit career development course during the spring semester that will allow them to develop the skills they need to succeed as a career development facilitator.
