Working at the Center for Arts and Crafts

We are looking for Penn State students (art, art education, or education majors) to instruct art classes and workshops each semester as well as youth art camp instructors during the summer. Gain classroom experience, write lesson plans, and manage art supplies. If you love being creative and artsy, meeting new people, and sharing your skills and talents with others, then working at the Center for Arts & Crafts is for you! If you are interested in any of the below positions, contact to inquire about the application process.

Adult Art Class Instructor

We are looking for art instructors to either instruct some of the favorite classes, such as wheel thrown pottery, oil painting, and drawing, or a brand new class! New ideas are always welcome. These art classes are free from academic pressure and designed for beginners and intermediates.

Summer Art Camp Instructor

We are looking for art camp instructors to offer a wide variety of specialized art camps designed to stimulate the imagination and attract the individual interests of children entering grades first through ninth. This synergetic teaming benefits both campers and art camp instructors by exposing our campers to a vibrant, innovative arts and crafts curriculum while at the same time giving our instructors valuable teaching experiences. Priority is given to current Penn State undergraduate students.

Federal Work Study Grant Positions

Students must have a Federal Work Study Grant to apply. Hours available to work at the art center and ceramics studio during daytime and evening, and fit around students' class schedules.
