Dharma Lions: The Mindfulness and Meditation Community at Penn State

Dharma Lions is a community that’s dedicated to practicing and revealing greater sense of well-being for ourselves and others. We provide space to explore mindfulness in a simple yet direct and meaningful way, usually through guided instructions by senior meditation practitioners. The invitation is to explore our deepest values, discover the inner world of authenticity, and experience a true sense of belonging. Mission

Provides a place for Adventists/Non-Adventist to discuss in-depth aspects of the Bible; promotes spiritual growth, both personal and corporate.

Alliance Christian Fellowship

The purposes of this Organization shall be:

A. To provide a place to worship the triune God (God the Father, Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit).

B. To provide, for individual believers of kindred spirit, fellowship with one another without affecting their denominational ties or campus organizational affiliation.

Assembly of God Chi Alpha

Mission

The purpose of this organization shall be to provide opportunities for the students of the Pennsylvania State University to develop their spiritual and social lives through worship, fellowship, discipleship, community service, witness, and prayer. This organization shall be primarily concerned with serving Assembly of God students and all those of like faith who believe:

1. ….the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written word of God.

Catholic Campus Ministry

Mission

The mission of the Catholic Campus Ministries at Penn State is to give witness to a Catholic presence in university life and to promote and sustain the well being of the whole Catholic person. Grounded in the tradition of the Church, Catholic Campus Ministries provides for an environment and fellowship that challenge members to encounter the Living Christ and be transformed by His Spirit. To aid in this mission, Catholic Campus Ministries provides for community members the obilgatory liturgies essential to the faith and in the process also addresses the liturgical needs of many in the international student community. In addition, Catholic Campus Ministries offers retreats, service opportunities, book and Bible studies, lectures and other activities within a tradition of diverse ethnic, cultural and language backgrounds that benefit the campus community and the universal Catholic Church.

DiscipleMakers Christian Fellowship

Mission

DiscipleMakers is a local chapter of the Pennsylvania-based DiscipleMakers organization. Our purpose is to help people learn about Christianity, about why knowing Jesus matters, and about how to live out your faith day to day. We welcome everyone no matter what their background or interest level is. We seek to meet people where they are at and investigate who Jesus is and why he matters. We also place a high value on community and individual mentorship and investment. We do all of this through things like small group investigative Bible discussions, mentoring relationships, specific Bible study training, and through a loving and caring community. Since we are a local chapter of a larger organization there are also many opportunities to learn and grow through inter-collegiate conferences and service trips.

Mission

The Good Samaritan Club is a non-denominational Christian club affiliated with the World Mission Society Church of God, which keeps and teaches the truth of the New Covenant that Jesus Christ established. Through the Bible we explore biblical prophecies such as:

Happy Valley Christian Community

Mission

The purpose of Happy Valley Christian Community is to follow Jesus and befriend people from all countries of the world. We believe that love is the most powerful force in the world and that we should extend this love even to those who dislike us or hate us. We believe that a deep love for God and others is the best possible foundation for building intentional communities, strong families, and vibrant churches. We frequently host discussion forums on these and many other topics. We also host cultural events, Bible studies, Christian Worldview classes, seminars, and more. We seek to promote the teachings and values of Jesus and his Apostles and we endeavor to live them out in a manner similar to the early Christians. HVCC facilitates connections between the student community and the local community and is affiliated with Followers of Jesus church.

In 1977, the "Ministries of Life Fellowship" and the "Black Christian Fellowship" merged to become UCCM, and since have never looked back. Unity Christian Campus Ministry is a group of college students who want to live for God in community. We live life together and commune for Bible Studies, kickbacks, community service, and more. Our advisors are sources of spiritual, physical, and emotional support and guide us through thick and thin. As always, but especially today, UCCM is not in agreement with the mistreatment of anyone based on race, gender, religion, sexuality, and anything else of the like. Sikh Student Association

Mission

The Sikh Student Association (SSA) on campus serves to provide a group for not only Sikh students but all students on campus to learn more about the faith and spread awareness about its people. SSA hosts bi-weekly meetings, langars (community meals), and fundraising trips.

To offer Penn State students facing an unplanned pregnancy hope and healing through connecting them with the resources that exist at State College's Pregnancy Resource Clinic.
