Peer Career Assistants are student staff who make a valuable contribution to the mission of Penn State Career Services. Our Peer Career Assistants are trained to assist their fellow Penn State students with the following:

  • Resume and cover letter editing and development

  • Job and internship searching

  • Interview preparation and mock interviews

  • Online resources use, such as Nittany Lion Careers, LinkedIn, and our Career Resource Center resources

Build Skills

Being a Peer Career Assistant allows you to help other students while building your professional portfolio.

  •  Strengthen professional development skills

  • Perfect interviewing and resume skills and knowledge

  • Have the opportunity to network with employers and career staff

  • Develop interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Great related experience for careers in HR, recruiting, counseling, and public speaking

Get Involved

Current Penn State undergraduate students (first, second, and third-year students) if interested please reach out to csmock@psu.edu.

  • Students of all majors with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others are encouraged to apply

  • Peers will work between 8-12 hours weekly during business hours at the Bank of America Career Services or IST Career Solutions and Corporate Engagement Office

  • Interested students must submit a resume and cover letter

Meet The Team

NAME: Lindsay Conrad

MAJOR: Labor and Human Resources, Spanish

PROFILE: Lindsay’s favorite part of working as a PCA is transforming students’ resumes to help them reach their full career potential. In addition to working as a PCA, she is also actively involved on campus in the Society for Human Resources Management Club, the Liberal Arts Ambassadors, and DiscipleMakers Christian Fellowship. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, watching movies with friends, singing, and writing songs.

NAME: Suzuka Yamane

MAJOR: Psychology

PROFILE: Suzuka is a third-year psychology major with an I-O focus. She is a research assistant at the Workplace Emotional Labor and Diversity (WELD) lab and an assistant coordinator for the Healthy-Inclusive-Productive (HIP) Workplace Initiative. She enjoys practicing yoga, dancing, and spending time in nature
