Following Up with Organizations

Attending Education Career Day is just the beginning of the application process. Make sure to follow through and show initiative to organizations you are interested in.

• Jot down notes
  Write down key information from your conversations with recruiters. Note the skills each district is looking for in candidates, the next steps in the application process, and any additional relevant information. Take notes promptly or you may forget something.
   
• Organize contact information
  Store contact information in a safe place for later use. Career Services cannot provide this for you after the fair.
   
• Send a thank you note
  Touch base with the recruiter by sending a thank you note after meeting with them. Use the notes you took to highlight conversation points.
   
• Apply online if needed
  Most organizations ask that you formally apply online after meeting face-to-face. Make sure to do this in a timely manner.
