The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity offers workshops and educational experiences for students, faculty, and staff who are interested in learning more about the LGBTQ+ community. These workshops are not a part of Penn State's LRN and are optional.
Faculty, Staff & Graduate Student Workshops
The Safer People Safer Places program offers a variety of workshops providing a foundation of knowledge for any faculty, staff, or graduate student who wishes to be an effective ally to the LGBTQ+ community at Penn State. Individuals who complete workshops can choose to display a Safer People Safer Places decal in their work area. Network members are Penn State community members who would be comfortable with providing support to LGBTQ+ individuals and be able to assist individuals in finding campus and/or local resources. Those who complete the foundations workshop will have the option to be added to our Safer People Safer Places network listserv and listed on our website as a network participant.
Queer Voices Peer Education Program
The Queer Voices Peer Education Program is a program that is requested by faculty, staff, or other Penn State clubs or organizations consisting of student educators sharing their personal narratives, giving a brief overview of resources available and providing audience members information on terminology and identities that may make up the LGBTQ+ community. Queer Voices panels can be requested as a way introduce basic LGBTQ+ information into a classroom, student organization, or working department.
