We offer weekly wellness activities. Check out the opportunities below. 

Yoga and Meditation 

Join yoga instructors Sima Farage and Latisha Franklin for yoga and meditation classes starting August 21 through December 7. Space is limited to 20 participants per class. We operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.  

  • On Mondays, join yoga instructor, Sima Farage, RYT 200, MBA, CHC, CEE, for yoga and meditation in 232 HUB-Robeson Center at 12:30-1:30 p.m. 
  • On Wednesdays, join yoga instructor, Sima Farage, RYT 200, MBA, CHC, CEE, for yoga and meditation in 122 Pasquerilla Spiritual Center at 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. 
  • On Thursdays, join Latisha Franklin, Ph.D, RYT 200, for yoga and meditation in 122 Pasquerilla Spiritual Center at 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. 

No classes on Labor Day or the week of Thanksgiving. 

A limited amount of yoga supplies are provided and no experience is necessary. All are welcome!   

You can watch previously recorded classes at your convenience! The recorded yoga and meditation classes are guided by yoga instructor, Sima Farage.  Get your yoga and meditation practice started today. 

Family and Friends Peer-Support Group

This group is for students at Penn State who are affected by another's alcohol and drug use -- a parent, a sibling, a partner, or a friend.  This meeting is open to students from any campus by accessing the Zoom link here.  

Tuesdays 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location: 105 Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, except when closed

Well-being Wednesday

Well-being Wednesday will be held in the Intramural Building from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Various activities, focused on student wellness, will take place throughout the building. When students enter the building, they can look for large information tables staffed by students. Here you can learn about all the different things you can do during Well-being Wednesdays. 

  • September 6, Campus Recreation will be hosting the Yoga Vibe Out series from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Sign up here!
  • September 13, Health Promotion and Wellness will be creating Make a Mind jars.
  • September 20, Campus Recreation will be participating in NIRSA Challenge Day with a variety of fitness programs occuring. More information can be found here
  • September 27, The Center for Fitness and Wellness will host the Stretching Vibe Out series at 4:00 p.m. in the IM Building. No registration is required in advance.  

Shinrin-Yoku, Forest Bathing

Join Anna Marie, certified forest therapy guide trained in the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT) way for a safe, guided Shinrin-Yoku, or Forest Bathing experience that will balance your body, mind, and spirit. A forest bathing walk shifts our attention from our thinking minds toward our senses. Through a series of open-ended invitations by the guide, participants will then be ready to receive whatever the forest has to offer each individual in unique ways. It calms the mind and connects our bodies to the natural world around us, enabling us to receive its benefits. 

Fall walks will begin September 5 and occur every Tuesday afternoon through October 24 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. Space is limited to 15 participants. Please fill out this form to reserve your spot!

Vibe Out - A Musical Wellness Series

Throughout the year, Vibe Out brings in a variety of musicians and instructors to a create a space to decompress, move, and reflect while enjoying some great music.

Free journals and snacks will be provided.

Vibe Out is a series sponsored by Health Promotion and Wellness, Student Engagement Programming, and The Center for Performing Arts and Campus Recreation.

Care Fair

When - November 29 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm 

Where - Heritage Hall, HUB-Robeson Center

Stop by the Care Fair if you are a student looking for a way to reduce stress and improve overall well-being. The Care Fair is a fun, interactive opportunity for students to take a break and learn about mindfulness, stress management and sleep. 

The fair will take place on November 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Heritage Hall, HUB-Robeson Center.

The fair will feature several hands-on stations where students can engage in a range of relaxing activities, including:

  • Learn strategies to manage stress and improve sleep quality
  • Make a “Mind Jar” with water and glitter glue
  • Build a mini sculpture with kinetic sand
  • Color in a Penn State coloring book
  • Create a self-care box
  • Set a mindful intention
