Whether you’re looking for one-on-one support, peer-led guidance, or access to preventive health services, our programs are here to help you build habits that support success, balance, and belonging.

Healthy Eating & Nutrition

Managing stress is an important part of staying healthy and successful at Penn State. From relaxation techniques and time-management strategies to workshops and peer support, campus resources can help you build healthier ways to cope and stay grounded during busy or challenging moments.

Work with our Nutrition Clinic

Penn State students can access free, individual nutrition counseling through the Nutrition Clinic. Registered dietitians meet with you in a supportive and non-judgmental environment to tailor your nutrition goals to your personal and cultural preferences. Our dietitians can help tailor your diet to meet your personal and cultural preferences and health needs. Sessions are free and no referral is needed.

Sleep

Good sleep is essential for focus, mood, and overall well-being, yet it can be one of the first things to slip during a busy semester. Penn State offers tools and guidance to help you build healthier sleep habits, balance your schedule, and create a routine that supports both rest and academic success.

Meet with Health Promotion and Wellness team member to get best practices and coaching on how to maximize sleep. Sessions are available for individuals and as interactive workshops for a group or organization.

Understanding the mind–body connection can help you manage stress, improve focus, and build healthier daily habits. Penn State offers resources and practices — from mindfulness to movement — that support both mental and physical well-being and help you stay centered throughout your day.

Stress Management Support

Managing stress is an important part of staying healthy and successful at Penn State. From relaxation techniques and time-management strategies to workshops and peer support, campus resources can help you build healthier ways to cope and stay grounded during busy or challenging moments.

Health Promotion and Wellness provides free individual sessions with trained peer educators. During these sessions, you can explore techniques such as deep breathing, mindfulness and meditation, or yoga and guided relaxation.

Need a quiet place to unwind between classes or reset during a busy week? The Relaxation Rooms, located in the Wellness Suite, 020 Intramural (IM) Building, and in 102 HUB-Robeson Center, is designed to help you recharge and refocus.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • Biofeedback software and relaxation apps on iPads to help you manage stress and monitor your breathing.
  • Coloring books, puzzles, a zen sand garden, light therapy boxes, and a Buddha Board — simple tools to calm your mind and spark creativity.
  • A comfortable, quiet space where you can take a break, meditate, or study in a low-stress environment.

The Relaxation Room is open Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. No appointment is needed — just stop by whenever you need a moment to reset.
