March is National Nutrition Month.
HealthWorks Peer Educators will be tabling around campus this month.
March 17 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the HUB at Table #8 you can play Nutrition Trivia, learn about nutritious snacks, pick up a recipe book, and learn about on and off campus resources.
March 19 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the HUB at Table #9, experience a mindful eating activity and learn how to incorporate mindfulness into your daily eating habits.
March 19 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the IM Building Main Entrance, learn about and try a healthy guacamole recipe!
March 25 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the HUB, you can play trivia and learn nutrition facts, healthy eating options, and the importance of having a balanced diet.
March 31 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. in Atherton Hall, learn about free nutrition services and resources.
Health Resource and Involvement Fair - March 26 at 134 HUB-Robeson Center
Save the date for March 26 from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Visit 134 HUB to learn about health resources and ways to get involved with student clubs focused on health with an emphasis on health equity.
Shinrin-yoku, Forest Bathing
Experience a research-based approach to enhance your health and wellness with a guided, slow, sensory walk. Inspired by the Japanese practice of "taking in the forest", ANFT certified guide Anna Marie Nachman will lead sessions on Tuesdays starting March 18 through April 29. Walks are led in Hartley Wood, the Arboretum at Penn State.
- Session 1: 4:00-5:15 p.m.
- Session 2: 5:30-6:45 p.m.
Advanced registration is required, and limited to 15 people. Register here for Forest Bathing. The exact meeting location will be provided after registering.
Vibe Out/Mindful Making
Starting March 20 through May 1, you can find us in room 107 HUB crafting and listening to some good tunes. Events will include Coloring and Conversation, Sneaker Decorating, College Vision Board Making, and Bracelet Making. Sessions are 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Below is the schedule. This is a drop-in activity with limited supplies.
- March 20 - Coloring & Conversation
- Engage in good discussions with your peers while channeling creativity in full color. Let yourself enjoy the meditative process of coloring without judgement or rules. All coloring supplies will be provided.
- March 27 - Bracelet Making
- Whether you're tying string to create a colorful threaded bracelet or making a beaded bracelet with encouraging words, this session has multiple ways for you to get inspired. Brief instructions can be given, but most of the creativity comes from you! Make one for yourself or someone else.
- April 3 - Sneaker Decorating
- This unique art medium is a fun way to show who you are in what you wear. Bring your own set of sneakers/shoes to paint, or one can be provided (supplies are limited). This will be a popular event, so make sure to come early!
- April 10 - Paint Your Own Pottery
- Learn the basics of painting ceramics from our Partners in Center for Arts and Crafts before diving into your own design. Not only is the practice of glazing pottery relaxing and meditative, you also can pick up your own food/drink safe mug a few days later!
- April 17 - Canvas Painting
- No matter your skill level or past experiences, join us for a canvas painting session with the Center for Arts and Crafts. They will provide pointers that can make the process easier and more fun.
- April 24 - Vision Board Making
- Join Michael Sjostedt with Cut Loose Collage Workshops for an introduction to the benefits of vision boards and what methods can be utilized to display your individual style. Use these Collages as motivation and encouragement to reach your goals.
- May 1 - Journal Decorating
- Personalize your own journal to represent who you are and what you value. Use a variety of art mediums to showcase your individuality. Prompts will be printed out that can be easily placed inside the journals to help guide your thoughts and writing.
Bookmark & Postcard Making
Join Michael Sjostedt from Cut Loose Collage Workshops. Michael will be hosting a bookmark and postcard making station on April 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Galbraith Lounge, HUB-Robeson Center. Drop in for a fun-time, hang around for as long as you'd like! This event is co-sponsored by Health Promotion and Wellness and Student Engagement Programs.
Yoga and Meditation
Join Sima Farage, RYT 200 and Latisha Franklin, Ph.D (RYT 200) for yoga and meditation classes starting January 13 through April 30.
Classes are offered every week except during Spring break.
- Mondays from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at 232 HUB with Sima.
- Wednesdays from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the Palmer with Latisha. Please check in at the front desk to find the specific room where yoga will be held.
- *Yoga and meditation are canceled on March 19 at the Palmer and will resume on March 26.*
- Wednesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at 122 Pasquerilla with Sima.
Feel free to bring your own mat. A limited amount of yoga supplies are provided and no experience is necessary. All are welcome!

Relax your Brain
This series will teach you resiliency skills for everyday use. You will learn skills to be responsive (rather than reactive) to the many stressors in your life. You will experience a full body and brain-relaxing practice called 3-part breath. These sessions are facilitated by Rose Bohn, a trained breathwork guide and writing professor.
Sessions are Wednesdays in 232 HUB from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. No registration required, just drop in.
Sessions on March 12, 26, and April 2 are canceled.
Well-being Wednesday
Well-being Wednesday will be held in the Intramural Building from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. every Wednesday in 2025. Various activities, focused on student wellness, will take place throughout the building. When students enter the building, they can look for large information tables staffed by students. Here you can learn about all the different things you can do during Well-being Wednesday.
Family and Friends Peer-Support Meeting
This group is for students at Penn State who are affected by another's alcohol and drug use: a parent, a sibling, a partner, or a friend.
- This group meets on Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. in 105 Pasquerilla Spiritual Center or on Zoom.
This meeting is open to students from any campus by accessing the Zoom link. Please notify Jason Whitney at jxw411@psu.edu if you would like to access via Zoom.
Access to Protection
Stop by the HUB, every Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to access FREE safer sex supplies. A HealthWorks peer educator will be available to answer your questions about sexual health.
Flourish Fair
Join us on April 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to engage with experts from various Penn State departments to support your well-being. Stop by Heritage Hall in the HUB to learn about contemplative practices to help you flourish.
