Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the need to protect the health and safety of our community of instructors, and participants through effective social distancing, we have made the difficult decision to cancel spring and summer (May and July) 2020 classes. If you are looking for ways to stay creative, check out our Create at Home Catalog below!

Consider taking a class at the Center for Arts & Crafts (located in 3 Ritenour Building). A wide variety of art classes are offered, everything from wheel thrown pottery, painting, drawing, stained glass, and dance to a mix of fun workshops such as crocheted scarves, jewelry making, ceramic plate glazing, wood burning,  and more! Classes are offered during spring, summer, and fall semesters.

Participants are required to be a Penn State affiliate to register for adult art classes and workshops. This includes students, staff and faculty with a valid PSU ID.

Variety of Classes

The Center for Arts & Crafts offers a variety of non-credit adult art classes throughout the year and children's art camps during the summer.

Create at Home

Since we cannot be together during this time, we are bringing art to your home! As you explore our Create at Home catalogs, you will see a variety of fun projects that can mostly be made from things around your house. Plus, in our volume 2, you can learn about famous artists as we do our own spin of some of their works!

If you create any of the projects in our catalog (or even something on your own) please feel free to share it with us via or on our Facebook page!

Affordable Facility Memberships

Our Ceramics Studio offers classes in wheel-thrown pottery and hand-building techniques, as well as memberships (fall and spring semesters) for those with previous pottery experience.

Qualified Instructors

All of our classes are taught by Penn State art majors, art education majors, graduate students, and professional artists.

If interested in an instructor position, please email to learn more about the application process.
