Virtual internships provide employers with a flexible way to offer students the opportunity to gain experience within a field of interest while working from a remote location. These experiences are particularly beneficial as they provide students with a convenient, work-based learning experience that is grounded in an authentic task or project.

Experiences that are conducted remotely, known as virtual internships, are held to the same high standards at Penn State as those conducted onsite and are closely aligned with these NACE standards.
