Student Organization Reservations & Rentals

Campus Recreation has a variety of spaces available for student organizations to reserve for practices or gatherings. Rental gear and custom programs are available for both student organization and outside groups.

Student Organization Reservations

Campus Recreation hosts a number of student organizations in the White Building, Tennis Center, McCoy Natatorium, and in outdoor field spaces and Stone Valley Recreation Area.

Reservable Facilities

McCoy Natatorium
  • Instruction Pool
    • A 6 lane, 25 meters, 3.5 – 5 ft. depth 
  • Competition Pool
    • 6 lane, 25 yards, 6 – 10 ft. depth
  • Diving Well
    • 14 ft depth, 1- and 3-meter springboards
  • Outdoor Pool
    • 50 meters x 25 yards with short (20 lanes) or long (8 lanes) course capability
  • Classroom
    • 950 sf with table, chair and projection options
White Building
  • Room 126
    • A 14,442 square foot space with a wood floor gymnasium, available bleacher seating, and available basketball, volleyball, and badminton setups.
  • Room 133/132
    • A dual room with a removable partition for small or larger space use. Room 133 is a 4,172 square feet and Room 132 is 3,108 square feet. Both spaces have hardwood floors, ballet barres, and mirrors, and is commonly used by dance organizations.
  • Room 113
    • A 2,864 square foot space exclusively used for dance classes and organizations. Space includes mirrors, ballet barres, and a Marley flood (typically used for ballet)
  • Room 106
    • A 3,421 square foot multi-use space with mirrored walls and a hardwood floor
  • Room 50/51
    • A 1,496 square foot multi-use space reserved mainly for group fitness, musical clubs, and classroom space. Space features a tile floor and single mirrored wall.

How to Reserve a Space

All reservations are made within 25Live. Search for Campus Recreation to view available spaces and request a reservation. This is an initial request and not a guaranteed reservation until verified by Campus Recreation staff.

Once made in 25Live a space reservation request will be sent to Campus Recreation staff. Campus Recreation staff will review the request before approving or denying. Occasionally staff will request a meeting with the requestor to review logistics, details, and requirements. If the event is approved by Campus Recreation a pre-event meeting will be scheduled to verify all reservation components.

What are the requirements to reserve a space?

General Student Reservation
In order to reserve a space with Campus Recreation you must give at least 30 days notice of your requested date. Reservations are made in 25Live (search for Campus Recreation for availability) and all requests are subject to approval or denial.

How do I reserve a space?

What happens when I request a reservation?

Once made in 25Live a space reservation request will be sent to Campus Recreation staff. Campus Recreation staff will review the request before approving or denying. Rentals

Campus Rec has a variety of equipment for use both on and off campus. Check out our outdoor rental center in the IM building or visit Stone Valley Recreation Area to rent a variety of watercraft to enjoy on Lake Perez.

  • Please note that all rental fees do not accept cash and all rental and reservation waivers for gear are paperless

Locker Reservation

Lockers are available for Campus Recreation members to rent at the IM Building and Natatorium. A lock is provided when you purchase the rental.

  • Rentals must be purchased in person at the IM Building sales desk.

  • Day-use lockers are also available at all of our locations free of charge

Outdoor Gear Rental

All Campus Rec members may borrow a variety of sports & fitness equipment to use in our facilities for free with their Penn State ID+/Membership Card.

Options include, but are not limited to: basketballs, racquetball gear, squash, tennis, table tennis, climbing shoes, bocce sets, and more.

Custom Programs

Bring your group to us, or we can come to you. Campus Recreation offers a variety of programs that can be customized to the needs of your group.

Challenge Course Programs

Each of our programs enhances your group’s skills in being productive members of a team. We understand that team development means a lot of different things, and that is why we work with you to create a unique and detailed plan to help you achieve your group goals. Our programs are flexible and can be tailored to highlight different team development concepts – problem solving, critical thinking, trust building, and more.

Climbing Programs

Our climbing programs offer challenging shared experiences that help push groups outside their comfort zones in a safe and controlled environment. Each climbing structure offers a unique experience.

Fitness Classes and Workshops

Campus Recreation Fitness and Wellbeing can customize a fitness class, workshop, or training program for you and your group through our Custom Fitness Programs. All sessions are led by a Penn State Fitness Instructor or Certified Personal Trainer. 

We offer a wide variety of custom classes that will fit your group's needs. You can utilize one of our Campus Recreation spaces or we can come to your Residence Hall, meeting room, or outside space.
